Must try: Yves Rocher Cleanser

I have a skin with no major problems, so I consider myself very lucky from this point of view. To keep my skin this way I use twice a day the Yves Rocher 2 in 1 Purifying Cleanser.

This cleanser eliminates residual impurities and matifies my skin.
It comes in a 150 ml bottle. Used twice a day I need a new bottle every 3 month.

What does the producer say: "The scutellaria root contains molecules known asflavonoids, which help it resist certain external attacks. Thanks to these molecules, which act like guardian angels, some species are able to survive at an altitude of 2000 m. Yves Rocher researchers have discovered that the flavonoids derived from scutellaria have an extraordinary power of regulating skin shine at source."

I you have oily or combination skin I recommend you to try the Sebo Specific Products from Yves Rocher.

Must smell: Yves Rocher So Elixir Purple

Today I would like to present to you my newest Perfume: So Elixir Purple from Yves Rocher.
It comes in a dark purple package and inside you will find a simple, feminine bottle, which is also purple.

The produces says, that the perfume is a "unique combination of an incredibly feminine infusion of Tuberose with essential Oils of Vetiver and Patchouli in a floral-woody elixir"

Key botanicals are : infusion of tuberose, essential oils of vetiver, bergamot, patchouli and benzoin extract.

Must try: Yves Rocher Shower Gel

I am always in a dilemma when I have to buy a new shower gel. There are literally hundreds of options you can choose from. Different size, different texture, different color, different scents. It's a nightmare!

After years of searching I have a profile of my favorite shower gel: Fruit scented (preferably citrus), strong and long lasting scent, small size (this way I won't get bored of it). At the moment I use Yves Rocher Shower Gels.

I found at offer at Yves Rocher and I have brought 3 Shower Gels and payed only two :-).

They come in a 200 ml bottle, they have different scents that last pretty long after taking the shower.

Names of the Gels:
Green: Mexican Aloe Vera Pulp
Yellow: Comoran Ylang-Ylang Flower
Red: Pomegranate From Spain.

I like it that they are natural products with uncommon scents.

What products do you use? Have you tried these? What do you think of them? I am curious to find out your opinion!

Question: What do you do after eating?

Today, after eating lunch, a question pop-ed in my mind: "What are yo allowed to do after eating?". I have thought abut it 10 minutes and I came up with some restrictions. These aren't invented by me. I have read about them or heard from friends. Maybe they are only urban legends.

  1. Don't drink water! Rationale behind this fact is that water will stick the eaten fat to your bowel and you don't want that! It is like trying to was the fat dished only with cold water. Simply disgusting.  don't want that happening in my body.
  2. Don't drink at all! Fluids will dissolve gastric acid and food will be harder to digest or won't get digested at all.
  3. Don't eat fruits. Eating fruits is allowed only after 30 minutes. By eating fruits you distract your stomach's attention from digesting the food and will start digesting the fruits.
  4. Don't brush your teeth! You will destroy your enamel. But if you don't brush you will get yellow stained teeth. Especially after eating spinach, ketchup and other extremely colored foods.
  5. Don't lay down! You will get fat! Buuuuuut.... the next number says:
  6. Don't do any exercises, you will get sick!

I am disoriented. What am I allowed to do after eating? May I do something at all?
My question is: What do you do after eating? I am curious :-)

Must visit: Zakynthos Island, Greece

It has been a long time since I haven't posted on this blog, but now I am back!
I want to share with you some information about the place I have visited this summer: Zakynthos Island, Greece.

Zakynthos is a beautiful green island, surrounded with clear blue and surprisingly turquoise water. The island is part of the 7 Ionian islands: Kerkyra (or as most of us know it: Corfu), Paxi (English: Paxos), Lefkada (English: Lefkas), Kefalonia (English: Cephalonia and Kefallinia), Ithaki (English: Ithaca), Kythira (English and Italian: Cerigo) and last but not least: Zakynthos (English and Italian: Zante). In greek they are called the Heptanese which means "The Sevens Islands". In the area you can find many small islands but these seven are the most famous.

I find it interesting that Kefalonia is the biggest of the Seven yet it isn't very developed for tourism. You will find few hotels and taverns on it, this is why it is perfect for a very quiet vacation.

Zakynthos is the third larges island of the Heptanese with its 410 square meters. The highest point of the island is at Vrachinas at 758 m.

Enough with the "talking". Let the pictures talk for themselves:

The calm beach of Kalamaki (in the Laganas bay) where Sea Turtles lay their eggs. Far back in the sea you can see a little island named Pelouzo.

We took a one day journey with a ship named Ikaros Palace and visited Navagio or Shipwreck beach, Xiglia beach and the Blue Caves.

 The Shipwreck

Navagio as it is seen from the road, at 400 m altitude.

This is the turquoise water I was talking about. It is real!!! I used no Photoshop to get this amazing color.

Xiglia, the sulfur beach. The sulfur comes to the surface of the water and makes it oily.

You can see the sulfur on the cliffs, the dark spots.

The Blue Caves

People who come by boat may enter the caves.

Positive things about Zakythos:

  • hospitality of the people (hotel manager, waiters, supermarket employee). Everybody is your friend. They would do anything to make you feel good.
  • the variety of  optional excursions (you can visit the island by ship, by bus or by car)
  • quiet beach, without loud music. Perfect for relaxing.
  • extremely clean water (cleanest I have ever seen!!!)
  • clean beach (exception Kalamaki beach. This is acceptable beacuse Kalamaki beach is used by the endangered turtle specie Caretta-Caretta or Loggerhead Sea Turle for laying their eggs. This is why the beach is kept as natural as possible)
  • airport on the island

Negative things:
  • high prices even at the supermarket. Eg. 1 kg of peach cost 2 EUR. In Romania you pay for it 0.80 EUR.
  • beach closes after sunset to allow Sea Turtles to lay their eggs (only in the Laganas bay).

If you want so see and swim along the Caretta-Caretta you should visit the island in June or July. In August you will only see the little turtles hatching from the eggs.
I am very happy I could visit this Island and I recommend it to everybody who wants to relax and visit these beautiful places I have shown you in my pictures.

Must have: Floral print shoes (2)

I finally managed to buy some floral print shoes! They were for a long long time on my must have list :-). I have found them at Deichmann (I prefer this store because I live on a big foot. I wear EU-41, UK 7.5 or US Wm's 10) at a very good price. The first one is my favorite. I got it at sale for 39.5 RON (9 EUR or 11 USD).

This is not really a floral print shoe (The print isn't visible when worn, but I find the big flower at the front very pretty and feminine, so I have put it in this category). This one had cost me 80 RON (18 EUR, 23 USD).

Must have: Accessories

Today I would like to show you my newest accessories: 3 necklaces. They are pretty much the same size  with a 70 cm long chain.

1. The Owl
I like this one because it is so colorful! I find it funny how this huge owl (4 x 6 cm) "sits" on a little branch.

The big brownish stone on the back of the spider makes it so special for me. The size of the spider is 5.5 x 6 cm.

3. The Musical Note Robot, my favorite
The specialty of the robot is that it can move his legs, arms and head! I like it because it looks so... silly. With his arms wide open measures 6 x 7 cm.

Must wear: Orange

Hi,  I am back with a new must wear: Color. This time it is orange! Although this pretty mix of red and yellow exists in many shades, it is a rare color of nature. You will find it mostly in fruits (the orange :-P, peach, apricot), vegetables (pumpkin, melon, carrot) and in flowers (gerbera, parrot flower). For me it looks like an artificial, mechanical color.

My first orange item is a handbag/purse. It’s pretty big (25 cm x 30 cm x 12 cm) so I can fit all my necessary (but most of the time unnecessary) things in it.

Orange shade nail polish (to see these shades on nails please visit:  http://lililalanailblog.blogspot.com/)

I would recommend wearing vibrant shades of orange (like the ones in my post) only if you have a darker / olive skin tone. If you are paler or have blond hair you should try the pastel shades (ex. apricot). You really don’t want the color to wear you!
I prefer to associate orange with black or white (Of course!!! These two are the perfect colors. They match with everything), with darker brown and blue (especially jeans). The complementary color of orange is azure (blue) so it can be worn with blue nail polish too.
